What is BLR-NG?
Designed for deployment in theatres of operation, the BLR-NG delivers high performance wireless broadband IP connectivity, enabling seamless interconnection of forces’ information systems.
It integrates the key features of the BLR-IP, used by French logistical forces in theatres of operation. It also implements the 4G/LTE standard, providing new # mobility services.
The BLR-NG provides secure IP interconnection with speeds reaching several Mbps over distances exceeding 20km.
Housed in ruggedised cases and equipped with tactical antennas, the BLR-NG is designed to support forces’ operation under harsh environment conditions.
Concept of Operation
The BLR-NG has been specifically designed for use in:
- Air-land operations, especially for logistical bases
- Deployed bases
- First entry and Emergency National Echelon
- Large-scale national events
- Crisis management
It can connect directly to various civilian and military communication systems, including operator WAN, zone networks and satellite links.

Multimedia
The BLR-NG supports the transmission of data, encrypted and unencrypted voice, videoconferencing, streaming, chat and messaging. It incorporates Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms tailored to each type of traffic and user class. Additionally, it implements resource allocation and priority preemption mechanisms to ensure efficient communication.
Benefits
The BLR-NG broadband radio technology enables a controlled communications system, supported by a diverse terminal ecosystem including tablets, smartphones, router modems and USB dongle.
With end-to-end IP protocol, it ensures interoperability with existing and easily integrates with other telephony networks.
Its modular design allows for flexible radio configurations tailored to deployment needs including: frequency, cell size, radio subsystem capacity and mobility.
Additionally, the BLR-NG architecture can integrate with operational applications supplied by the customer.
Security
The BLR-NG includes security clearance management for restricted access and NATO-restricted levels. Future upgrades will incorporate LTE technology to further strengthen security with SIM card authentication, double authentication and VPN support.
