Key Features

JTAC training

Supports Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) certification and qualification (STANAG 3797)

Realistic Synthetic Environment

Used by French Forces for trainee pre-screening, basic training, re-qualification, check runs and tactical drills

Remote and Distributed Training

Enables networked, distributed training including Computer Assisted Exercise - CAX - and international exercises

Adaptability to Other Uses

Suitable for various Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) including, Call For Fire (CFF), Naval GunFire Support (NGFS), Close Combat Attack (CCA) and Close Air Support (CAS)

What is Fortion® SIMFAC?

Fortion SIMFAC bridges the gap between classroom learning and the costly logistics of live training. It supports Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) including:

- Call For Fire (CFF),

- Naval GunFire Support (NGFS),

- Close Combat Attack (CCA),

- Close Air Support (CAS).

Accredited by NATO since 2013, Fortion SIMFAC allows JTACs to replace 6 out of 12 required live controls per year while maintaining their qualification.

The system is built on virtual simulation and features:

- 4m diameter hemispheric screen with a 180° field-of-view;

- Realistic equipment replicas including laser rangefinder binoculars, radio push-to-talk, laser target designator, IZLID infrared pointer and full motion video;

- A head-mounted display for 360° immersion.

With minimal logistics footprint, Fortion SIMFAC can be deployed in basic infrastructures, such as classrooms. Additionally, it integrates seamlessly into a simulation federation enabling training with legacy simulations, semi-automated forces, tactical operation centres and any DIS-HLA compatible simulator.

Fortion® SIMFAC provides a highly realistic and dynamic synthetic environment simulating various terrains, weather conditions and operational scenarios including urban settings, desert and rainforest environments. It enables interoperability among NATO

How can Fortion® SIMFAC support?

Fortion® SIMFAC provides a highly realistic and dynamic synthetic environment simulating various terrains, weather conditions and operational scenarios including urban settings, desert and rainforest environments.

It enables interoperability among NATO nations, supporting standardised training through shared databases and scenarios.

Accredited by NATO since 2013, Fortion SIMFAC is approved for Close Air Support (CAS) across  Type I, II, III missions including night operations and laser-guided engagements.
